The Wildcats Midget 16UAA Maroon team continued the club’s tradition of developing skilled, disciplined, and competitive hockey players during the 2016–17 season. Designed for athletes seeking a challenging environment, the program combines high-level coaching, structured practices, and competitive league play to help players maximize their potential while preparing for the next stage of their hockey careers. Every member of the team is encouraged to develop both as an individual athlete and as an important contributor to the success of the group.
Throughout the season, players participate in professionally planned training sessions that focus on skating efficiency, puck control, passing precision, shooting mechanics, defensive awareness, and game intelligence. Coaches implement advanced systems of play that strengthen offensive creativity, defensive structure, transition speed, and special teams performance. Practices are designed to simulate game situations, allowing players to build confidence, improve decision-making, and perform effectively under pressure.
The 2016–17 schedule features league competition, exhibition games, and tournament events that provide athletes with valuable experience against strong opponents. Each game serves as an opportunity to apply new skills, strengthen teamwork, and continue developing leadership qualities. Coaches regularly evaluate player progress, offering personalized feedback that supports long-term improvement and helps every athlete reach individual performance goals.
Wildcats places great importance on character development alongside athletic success. Players are expected to demonstrate respect, responsibility, discipline, and sportsmanship in every practice, game, and community activity. The coaching staff works to create a positive culture where teamwork, accountability, and mutual support are just as important as success on the scoreboard.
Parents and families remain an essential part of the Wildcats community, providing encouragement and helping create a welcoming atmosphere throughout the season. The organization values strong communication between coaches, players, and families to ensure every athlete enjoys a rewarding and memorable hockey experience.
The Midget 16UAA Maroon program prepares players for future opportunities by combining competitive hockey with comprehensive player development. Whether athletes aspire to compete at the high school, junior, or collegiate level, they gain valuable experience, confidence, and leadership skills that extend far beyond the rink. By maintaining high standards of coaching and player development, Wildcats continues to build a tradition of excellence while helping young athletes achieve both their hockey goals and personal growth.
